Role Purpose

  • Be a lead in operationally running the 24/7/365 Command and Control Centre.
  • Be the accountable operational leader during your working shift running the global command and control function.
  • Drive the shift team to agreed SLAs
  • Report into senior management on all major incidents as they occur in an appropriate fashion.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure business service levels across the Maersk IT estate are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Clear business led communication to senior IT and business stakeholders.
  • Make operational decisions based on data provided by shift resources to restore business service or address urgent security events.
  • Manage vendors to resolve the issue and stop any ongoing business impact.
  • Document, communicate, and log follow up actions for later triage, prioritisation, and action to avoid reoccurrences.

Experience Required

  • Worked in a high-pressured IT Operations 24/7/365 function.
  • Must be able to lead in a rapidly changing, very complex, and technical environment.
  • Must be able to translate technical issues into transparent business language.
  • Highly organised and 'business service first' attitude with a strong personality to be able to push back on requests where necessary.
  • Must be hands on and be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be a leader and a team player and able to work with and through others.
  • Broad technical knowledge across IT Operations.
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies and application architecture.

  • Coaching skills – working alongside junior colleagues in an advisory and mentoring fashion.
